The ValPak financial assistance and career development programwas created by
the partnership of the HSV Group and Destination Hawaii, a 32 year old event management
company. This program was designed to fund the 2020 high school valedictorians with their
first year college expenses. ValPak was set up to replace the postponement of the 2020 High
School Valedictorian Forum that was scheduled for this past July, 2020, in Waikiki.

I recently graduated as our school’s valedictorian. I will be attending Harvard
University this fall on a scholarship. My parents recently got a divorce but,
my mother made sure that I still had time to study, play sports and do community
service work at our church. I have a deep passion for learning new things in life.
